Sight Reading

Sight Reading is a collaging of three different kinds of movement. It imagines a dialogue between a re-enactment of early 20thC experiments into ‘eyeless sight’ (a scientific curiosity testing claims that ‘sight’ could move to different parts of the body); a choreographed exploration of an eclipse (the movement of planets); and a study of the rhythm of jokes.

Sight Reading was developed and supported as part of an Artsadmin bursary 2006 – 2007. Screenings have included: Openport Real-Time Performance, Sound & Language Festival, Chicago; ‘Multichannel’ at Artsway gallery, Hampshire; Falmouth Live Art Festval; Nottdance Festival, Nottingham; Movement on Screen Festival, Manchester; Toynbee Studios, London and Whitechapel Gallery, London.
